Unexpectedly Terrifying Xmas Carol Lyrics

From “Winter Wonderland”:

Later on, we’ll conspire,
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid,
The plans that we’ve made,
Walking in a winter wonderland.

That’s just fucking intense. Especially when you consider that in the previous stanza, when questioned about their marital status by a snowman, this couple has admitted to living in sin. Who are these people in this winter wonderland, who are so intimate, who trust one another so implicitly that they can face the future together without a shred of fear? Is Christmas supposed to absolve our neuroses/temporarily make us forget the problem of other minds? I can just has secular consumption, plz?
